I’ve finally taken Nathan’s advice and installed Disqus to handle the comments on this site. Please let me know if you notice anything broken as a result. Supposedly there are some nice features, including the ability to leave video comments.

What's the difference between a comment and a reaction? I don't see any links or buttons to “react”.
If I understand correctly, linking to this blog entry on another blog is a reaction. Many blog systems will attempt to notify back-linked blogs of links.
Explain this Disqus….
It rips out the built-in commenting system in WordPress (and also a large number of other platforms), and replaces it with a centralized managed commenting system.
I'm trying to figure out how the video commenting works…
Now I want it too! Found the plugin, and just waiting for the existing comments to be imported.
Its an easy install. First sign up for a Disqus account. Then put in the
WordPress plugin. It took approximately 5 minutes.
Disqus has always been my favorite commenting system. The speed of it always amazes me.Disqus is under active development.it is a listen to user feedback.
Disqus is the top commenting platform in my opinion. Not only is Facebook Connect integration nice but allowing users to also use their Twitter accounts to leave comments is awesome.
I like the fact that comments can follow one around from site to site. Its definitely a plus for community building.
Disqus work great with Facebook Love it. Disqus is much nicer and I can see all the comments I make in one place..
Disqus is fantastic, it's certainly saved me a ton of time as a webmaster. I find it integrates nicely with WordPress (which I run) and fits well into what I'd expect from a discussion based commenting system.
